Welcome to the The Sydney Wine Centre, the home of wine appreciation in Sydney.

The Sydney Wine Centre is proud to host some of the most entertaining, exciting and enjoyable wine events in Sydney.

Whether it be a 4 week or 1 day Wine Appreciation Course, a Sparkling Wines of the World Tasting or one of our Bi Monthly Wine Club dinners we believe in the philosophy that good wine, good people and good food are the key ingredients in a good night.

Private Parties - Corporate Events

Whilst our public events are always extremely popular we also specialise in creating memorable events for private groups and companies. If you are organising a Corporate Function, a Team Building Day, throwing a Hens Party/Bucks Party or simply want to organise a group of friends to have a fun night out then contact us and let us help you create an event that every guest will find truely memorable.

We can host events at our specially fitted room in Annandale, come to your own boardroom or dining room or recommend restaurants to suit every occasion. So whether it is a cocktail style event for 150 people, a Wine Dinner for 30 or an intimate Masterclass for 10 we are able to cover everything including venue, wine, food, presentation and personalised gifts, thus taking all the pressure off you.

Events in 2012

2012 is set to be a huge year for the Sydney Wine Centre as we continue to entertain and educate around the world of wine. With the return of a number of our favourite tasting themes as well as many new and exciting concepts there will be an event for anyone that enjoys a glass of wine.

Our Wine Club Dinners have been such a success in 2011 (even with the sore heads the next morning) these will held 2-3 times a month in 2012. Check out our events page for more details.

Our 4 Week and 1 Day Wine Appreciation Courses with Rob Geddes have continued to develop and build from strength to strength. Rob, who was the 3rd Australian to achieve the Master of Wine title takes guests through an informative and entertaining journey through the world of wine.

The French Cheese and Wine Nights with Simon Johnson Provedores continue to be so popular these are now monthly events. Spaces for these events are limited so register now to make sure you don't miss out.

Sporting themed tastings are what we love most as they give us a chance to combine 2 of our great loves, sport and wine. Our Tour de France Nights have been hugely popular for years now and are being repeated a number of times this year. We also have special Bledisloe Cup tastings and Super 15 themed nights and a whole host of other special theme nights.

Our Singles Nights will be returning in 2012 allowing young people a chance to enjoy and perhaps even learn a bit about wine while meeting some new people along the way, all in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere.

A repeat of our successful Discover International Wines Tasting Series will be held in March.

As always we will continue to welcome some fantastic Winemakers to the Sydney Wine Centre who will show off their amazing range of wines.

In 2012 we will be expanding our Wine Tours available to the public and for private groups. We are already extremely excited about our planned trip to Argentina in October which just happens to take in a Wallabies Test Match in B.A along the way but we also have tours to Orange, Mudgee, Hunter Valley, NZ (Central Otago and Martinborough) and 2 trips to South Australia scheduled. Wine Appreciation Course with Rob Geddes MW

Rob Geddes MW hosts both 4 week and 1 Day Wine Apprecciation Courses to entertain and educate your palate and mind.

These courses are held every 2 months and allows participants to learn about the different wine varieties, taste the difference between the wine regions of Australia and the world and learn the art of food and wine matching, allowing you to tackle a wine list with confidence.

The 4 week course runs for 4 consequtive Wednesdays with 10-12 wines tasted each night. The cost is $275 and this includes a copy of “A Good Nose & Great Legs” by Rob Geddes (RRP $50), the unofficial text for the course.

This course is also offered in a 1 Day format on a Saturday, covering the same topics.

If you are unable to attend one of the weeks of the 4 night course don't worry. The course is held 5 times a year and you can catch up on any nights you missed at any other time the course is run.

Terms and Conditions of Events at Sydney Wine Centre

All attendees at events hosted by the Sydney Wine Centre must be at least 18 years of age and respect our strict adherence to RSA principals.

All attendees must confirm their places at events by completing a booking form that is sent on registration of interest.

Once a booking form is completed and payment made this booking form acts as a confirmation of booking.

If you are unable to attend an event you may transfer to any other event provided 7 days notice is given.

For private bookings a 25% deposit is required to reserve a function date.

Full payment is required 7 days prior to the event with final numbers confirmed at this time (changes of 10% allowed).

Functions can be held for groups between 10 and 100 people (min $500)

If notice is given within 7 days, a 50% fee will be charged to change events.

If for some reason an event is cancelled you will be given a full refund.

Tour de France and French Wine and Cheese Events

Our Tour de France tastings have been a highlight of our calendar for the past 3 years and we were extremely excited by the tour route in 2012.

If you can't wait untill July to taste some amazing French wines then come along to one of our monthly French Cheese and Wine tastings where we continue the fun.

We are also happy to host these events as private tastings so why not get a group of your friends or co-workers together for a fun and informative night out of fine French Cheese and Wine.
