Email Tim to discuss any event you have in mind.

Events in 2014

2013 is set to be a huge year for the Sydney Wine Centre as we continue to entertain and educate around the world of wine.

In 2013 we will be breaking our events into 2 broad categories so that you may choose the right style and format of event. The Discover Events are intended as relaxed and entertaining events whereas the Explore Events are slightly more advanced tastings and are aimed at people who already have some knowledge and confidence when it comes to wine. For more specific details please read on or if you have any questions please give us a bell or shoot us an email, we love to have a chat!

An example of the types of events that we will hold in 2013 include:

Our  4 Week and 1 Day Wine Appreciation Courses with Rob Geddes. Rob, who was the 3rd Australian to achieve the Master of Wine title takes guests through an informative and entertaining journey through the world of wine. Perfect for anyone who enjoys wine but is looking to take that enjoyment to the next level. The aim is to have guests knowing what they like and why and feeling confident choosing a wine in any situation.

Our Wine Club Dinners (some at Discover level, some at Explore level) which have been such a success these will now be held a minimum two times a month.

The French Cheese and Wine Nights (Discover Level) with Simon Johnson Provedores. These will continue to be held monthly although spaces for these events are limited so register early to make sure you don't miss out.

Sporting themed tastings which give us a chance to combine 2 of our great loves, sport and wine. Our Tour de France Nights have been hugely popular for years now and are being repeated a number of times this year. We also have special Bledisloe Cup tastings and Super 15 themed nights and a whole host of other special theme nights.

Our Singles Nights (Discover Level) have been a great deal of fun although we have to be honest, we need more guys. Spots for girls fill up quickly but we would love to hear from the single eligible men of Sydney to share the wine with these lovely girls.

A repeat of our successful Discover International Wines Tasting Series will be held in March and June.

A continuation of our specific Grape Variety and Regional Tastings (Explore Level)

As always we will continue to welcome some fantastic Winemakers to the Sydney Wine Centre (Explore Level) who will show off their amazing range of wines.

In 2013 we will also be expanding our Wine Tours available to the public and for private groups.

Check out the Upcoming Events section on the right to see specific dates or click on the Calendar section to see all the events.

If you would like more details about any events please send us an email or if you have any ideas for a tasting you would like to see us host please let us know as we love to hear what everyone enjoys.

Wine Appreciation Course with Rob Geddes MW

Rob Geddes MW hosts both 4 week and 1 Day Wine Apprecciation Courses to entertain and educate your palate and mind.

These courses are held every 2 months and allows participants to learn about the different wine varieties, taste the difference between the wine regions of Australia and the world and learn the art of food and wine matching, allowing you to tackle a wine list with confidence.

The 4 week course runs for 4 consequtive Wednesdays with 10-12 wines tasted each night. The cost is $300 which includes a copy of “A Good Nose & Great Legs” by Rob Geddes (RRP $50), the unofficial text for the course.

This course is also offered in a 1 Day format on a Saturday, covering the same topics.

For more information or to book your place please call 02 9572 3500 or click here

Note - If you are unable to attend one of the weeks of the 4 night course don't worry. The course is held 5 times a year and you can catch up on any nights you missed at any other time the course is run.

Terms and Conditions of Events at Sydney Wine Centre

All attendees at events hosted by the Sydney Wine Centre must be at least 18 years of age and respect our strict adherence to RSA principals.

All attendees must confirm their places at events by completing a booking form that is sent on registration of interest.

Once a booking form is completed and payment made this booking form acts as a confirmation of booking.

If you are unable to attend an event you may transfer to any other event provided 7 days notice is given.

For private bookings a 25% deposit is required to reserve a function date.

Full payment is required 7 days prior to the event with final numbers confirmed at this time (changes of 10% allowed).

Functions can be held for groups between 10 and 100 people (min $500)

If notice is given within 7 days, a 50% fee will be charged to change events.

If for some reason an event is cancelled you will be given a full refund.

Event Bookings and Cancellations

Public events and courses at the Sydney Wine Centre are generally structured tastings with limited spots available.

Thus at all events, unless otherwise stated, a booking is only confirmed when payment details for that booking have been received.

We understand that there can be situations where people will be unable to attend after having confirmed a booking. Wherever possible we will try to ensure that in this event, the guest(s) are replaced and if this occurs a full refund or transfer will be offered.

However in the event of a cancellation within 7 days of an event, if we are unable to find a replacement for the cancelled booking, we are unable to guarentee a refund or transfer. We will however attempt to come up with a solution that is agreeable to all parties through a late notice program or refer a friend option. We appreciate your understanding on this difficult topic
